The Closet Won Round One
By Molly on Jan 18, 2008 in 2008 Journal Entry, Goals
In the interest of being completely honest… I haven’t purged even one thing from that dern closet. It seems to taunt me the last couple nights as I pass it on my way to bed. The door remains slightly ajar no matter how many times we attempt to shut it. I assume it’s the closet’s way of rubbing in it’s overwhelmingness that has now become my nemesis. I hate that closet and I don’t even want to discuss it until I find the time to tackle it.
On another note, while I’m being completely honest…
I am a 45 year old woman who has given birth to three children. As most women who’ve committed this incredible act can attest to, this makes sneezing and in my case even coughing an unpleasant - oh how should I say this? - somewhat moist experience.
Unlike most women though, and here’s the real kicker, when I get cold I tend to cough, a lot!
Now here’s the weather prediction for our weekend:

So what are my plans for the weekend besides watching the Packers in the playoffs? Depends.

Thank you for letting me laugh with you. Isn’t life a kick in the rear sometimes?
Assuming that closets and coughing stay here, I am certain Heaven is going to be a hoot.

I’m in the same boat… and I’ve only had one child… imagine if I had had 3! Very frightening!

Molly, you are a hoot! LOL! I relate! You decide how! LOL!
Thank you for the encouragement. I will stick with the study and try to get back in the swing in the next week or so. BIG HUGS!

Oh, you crack me up, girl! No more coughing from cold in Texas!
Only a little bit longer! Hang in there! As for the closet, well, it will get purged one way or another…you have to pack someday and if you are like us, we always seem to have a shortage of boxes, so some things just have to go!
Enjoy your weekend!

Now don’t laugh, Molly, but I saw this on Oprah yesterday, which is ironic because I never watch Oprah any more. She had a woman gynecologist on the show who discussed this and some even more delicate subjects. And guess what?
Three’s a solutuion. You’ll hate it as much as I do, but it Kegal exercises. Seriously, that strenghtens the pelvic floor which supports the bladder.
That weather forecast is awful. No wonder you’re moving. Why don’t you just seal that closet and move without the stuff. LOL

That “three’s a solution” confused ME so I’m sure you’re scratching your head. Try “there’s a solution.” Oh! Then try to figure out what “strenghtens” means.
Sigh. I used to be such a good typist.

Ok I laughed, but I love Barb’s advise. But isn’t that the same advice they gave us for child birth also?
Gotta run I am laughing to hard….

That is crazy cold. I will stop complaining about 28 in OKC.
I still really want Spring to be here!!!

I am 47, have given birth to 7, yes 7 children, and I can so relate to what you are saying!
Thanks for the chuckle!

Molly, your post made me laugh out loud! As one who just got over bronchitis but still has a lingering hacking cough, I feel ya!
But, as a certified childbirth educator, I cannot leave without telling you to do your KEGEL exercises! Look the term up online, and then commit to doing them regularly. For some reason, women love to do them at red lights. (I have no idea why, and even laugh about it with my students when I teach them in class.)
Wherever you do them, just get started! You’ll be glad you did. And think of all the money you’ll save on Depends!
